Dr. Steven Prier grew up in central Montgomery County adjacent to a farm where he raised and showed Ayrshire dairy cows. As a teenager he worked at his fathers small animal practice where he learned the art of veterinary medicine. He received his bachelors degree from Penn State and then continued his education studying ruminant nutrition and receiving a Masters degree from the Montana State University. He then came back to Pennsylvania and received his VMD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1981. He is the past president of the Suburban Veterinary Medical Association and the Delaware Valley Academy of Veterinary Medicine. He is a member of the AVMA, PVMA and AAHA. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family and working around his farm with the dogs, cats, sheep and goats.
Ashley Harrison graduated from West Chester University with a bachelor's degree in Communications. It only took her 5 months working in the corporate world before she realized it wasn’t the right fit. She found her way to Sugartown Vet in 2010 and has been with us ever since. You can find her at the front desk answering phones, helping clients or in Dr. Prier’s office under piles of paper. When not at work, Ashley enjoys spending time with her two kids and three dogs; Pippa, Lorenzo and Willow. She also enjoys hanging out by her pool, baking, working out at Orangetheory fitness, dining with friends, and when time permits, going on a great vacation! Ashley says, "aside from having the best boss ever, my love for animals, especially dogs, will keep me at Sugartown for as long as Dr. Prier’s in practice.”
Liz has worked at Sugartown Vet since the summer of 2016. She has had a love of animals her whole life, growing up with cats and having dogs and cats throughout her adult life. Transitioning from the restaurant industry to working with animals at Sugartown has been a "dream job come true." Being hands-on and learning something new every single day, Liz says working at Sugartown has "completely changed my life for the better." Liz does it all around here; everything from assisting with surgery to admin work, and is considered the resident "I.T. specialist". She plans to continue working with Dr. Prier and in the veterinary world for as long as possible. When away from the office, Liz spends her time with her boyfriend, their daughter, their two dogs; Marcy and Zoey, and two cats; Gunther and Simon. She also enjoys being outdoors, going for hikes, singing and playing guitar, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, playing video games and quoting one of her favorite shows, "The Office", any chance she gets.
Anna started working at Sugartown back in 2017. Growing up with cats and dogs throughout her life, Anna always had a fascination with the animal world, specifically veterinary medicine. Shortly after joining our team, Anna enrolled in a veterinary technician program and continues to further her education fulfilling her passion and plans to stay in the veterinary world for the rest of her working life. One of Anna's biggest driving forces is being the voice for helpless animals and providing love and compassion to all the four-legged animals she meets. Anna's favorite things to do in her spare time are relax on the beach with a great book, watch true crime documentaries, and spend time with her fiancee, their four cats and their dog, Alfie.

Heather has been a part of our Sugartown team since 2021 after enrolling in a Veterinary Assistant program earlier that year. Since completing the program, she has taken on some technician responsibilities and hopes to continue her education in that area. She enjoys blood draws, assisting during surgeries and helping patients. She’s eager to learn as much as possible about veterinary medicine.
When she’s not working, she can usually be found hanging out with her nieces, and her dog, Bruiser. She also enjoys spending time with her adorable pup Payton, reading, nature walks, scrolling through Tiktok, and strolling on the beach.
